Description
Full day, usually 8am to 5pm. Covers the two things almost everyone comes to Cairo for: the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum. They’re about 10 minutes apart, so combining them into one day makes sense.
We start at the Pyramids because it’s cooler in the morning. Same setup as our Pyramids-only tour — accessible entrance, Panorama viewpoint, Sphinx, about two and a half hours on site. The van is a Toyota HiAce with a rear lift and four-point tie-down straps, air conditioning throughout, and space for one wheelchair user plus four seated passengers.
Then we drive to the GEM. The museum is genuinely well-designed for wheelchairs — ramps everywhere, elevators to all floors, accessible restrooms on every level. You get about three hours inside. If you want to see the Tutankhamun galleries (the main draw), plan at least 90 minutes for that alone. The grand staircase and the atrium with the Ramses II statue are also worth the time.
The museum has a few restaurants and cafes, so lunch can happen there. We don’t include it in the price. The food is decent and the seating is accessible. If you’d rather eat outside the museum, there are a few places on the road back to Cairo.
We head back to your hotel around 4:30 or 5, depending on how long you want at the museum.

Good to know
- The GEM is fully wheelchair accessible. Loan wheelchairs are available at the entrance if you don’t bring your own, but we recommend bringing yours.
- The Tutankhamun galleries get crowded after 11am. If you want to see them without the crush, we can flip the order — GEM first, Pyramids after lunch. Just tell us when you book.
- The museum closes on the first and third Monday of some months for maintenance. We’ll check before confirming your booking.
- Book at least 48 hours ahead if bringing an electric wheelchair.
