Description
Read this before booking. Taba to Cairo is 500km and 7.5 to 8 hours of driving, plus rest stops. This is not a quick airport transfer. It’s a full-day drive. We do it comfortably, with stops, but please plan for the day it takes.
We collect you from the Taba Border Crossing (if you’re arriving from Eilat) or from your hotel in Taba or Taba Heights. The van is a Toyota HiAce with a rear lift and four-point tie-down straps, air conditioning throughout, and space for one wheelchair user plus four seated passengers.
The route
We take the coastal road: Taba → Nuweiba → Ras Sudr → through the Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel under the Suez Canal → Cairo. This is the flatter route, with better rest stops and accessible facilities along the way. The alternative route through St. Catherine is shorter but goes over the mountains, and the rest stops aren’t as good.
We stop at least twice — once at Nuweiba or Ras Sudr, and once at a service area on the Cairo side of the canal. Both stops have accessible restrooms and food. We stop more often if you need to.
Arrival in Cairo depends on when you leave Taba. A 7am departure gets you to Cairo around 4pm. A 10am departure puts you in Cairo around 7pm, and if you’re heading to Giza or the Pyramids area, add another 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.

Good to know
- This transfer runs one way. For the reverse trip (Cairo to Taba), see our separate product.
- Overnight option. If 8 hours in a van is more than you want to do in one day, we can break the trip overnight in Ain Sokhna or Suez. You stay at an accessible hotel, we resume the next morning. Add $95 for the driver’s overnight and repositioning, plus your hotel cost. Ask us when booking.
- Border crossing passengers: allow 30-60 minutes for Egyptian immigration before we pick you up. We wait at the exit with a name sign.
- The Taba area has very limited accessible vehicle availability. We position the van from Cairo specifically for your booking. Book at least 7 days ahead so we can confirm logistics.
- Bring your passport. There are police checkpoints along the Sinai route where ID is checked. Your driver handles the formalities, but you’ll need your passport on you.
- The van handles both manual and electric wheelchairs. Tell us the weight and dimensions when booking.
- We monitor your border crossing arrival time. If your bus from Eilat is late, we adjust on the day at no extra cost.
Thank you!
We will contact you soon.
